Philosophical Imaginatrix: Transcendental Nepal'ness
Nepal is a country of nomadic presence. The very essence is lucid. Psychedelic. The atmosphere is exuberant with euphoria and bliss. It's a country of balance between the polarity of duality. From a gesture of greeting with 'Namaste/Namaskar' to a festival of putting 'Henna in Hands' to the "Colors of Holi' to the 'Songs of Deusi/Bhailo'. The 'Colorful Tika of Dashain' to the 'Nude Sadhus of Shivaratri'. From a lunar vantage point to the solar flare. Every week is blessed with the understanding of meditation, gratitude, blissfulness, observation, awareness and liberation. It's almost like fading into the deepness of universe. A Buddha perfectly fits in a Vishnu temple. A Mohammad or Jesus is always welcome. Dance your dance, have your way. Sing your song.
हसिबा खेलिबा धरिबा ध्यानम्.
To be blissful, to be playful, to be meditative. That's what living the Nepal'ness means to me. It doesn't mean the wretched political or economical game. I don't see 'Nepal' as a piece of land. It's not a boundary drawn in paper. For me, Nepal is the orgasmic experience of everyday living. It's the wholeness of Janaki Temple (the cultural brilliance of Mithila). It's the wisdom I breath in, when I am in Hiranyagarbha Mahavihar (Patan). Nepal is a luminating understanding of my astral presence. Nepal is a phenomenon, it's not a concrete jungle. It's the ashes burning in the fire of Pashupatinath. I believe in the 'Nepal'ness'. Something which never dies. Something not bounded to the people or the land. Something more profound. Something of archaic order. Nepal'ness that is what Nepal is for me. It's not just a country I live in. It's not the represented country in my passport. That's very political thing. Nepal is the divine high. It's the pushing 'Kundalini' force. It's the Shambhala.
Kathmandu: The City of Monkeys and Temples. What more am I to say? Every corner turns into a temple with wisdom hidden in layers. Every layer is a science and an art. The staggering imagery of 'Kal Bhairav'. The swift imagery of 'Saraswati'. The 'Gods Making Love'. The picturesque initiation into the wild. The mountains dancing with wisdom. 'Annapurna: The Goddess of Nourishment'. I once woke up to the complete view of 'Annapurna Range'. And I was in a perpetual flux. I was all. For a while, I was neither breathing nor present. But just in the being. I was the mountain. Such graceful moment. And that is a ever flowing reminder, wherever I go.
If I see someone from Zanzibar explaining their nomadic'ness, it reminds me of Nepal. Nepal is Zanzibar. When I see a colossal discussion of giant corporation in Wall-Street, it reminds me of Buddha, 'the sense of Anitya'. The Anitya Nepal. The Illusioning Wall-Street. The picture of floating 'Mount Fuji', that is Nepal. The megalith called Eiffel Tower, and the megalith of a forbidden kingdom, that is Nepal. What is not Nepal? Hence Nepal is not. It cannot be. Because I cannot define it, I reach in contradictory conclusions. And that is what life represents. A polar union. That is Nepal. I am not a patriotic person. I am a person of the planet. My patriotism is planetary. My experience might be defined by the cup of tea, I drink. But I certainly cannot be defined by the ills of society. For me Nepal is the 'Chitra Gupta: the hidden picture'. Something I feel, but cannot explain.
The land where Nepal is, it is also Nepal. The outer shell. But it seems to me, we are too focused on being Modern or having an smartphone. We have forgotten the true nature of who we are. That which we represent. That which is universal. That which is beautiful. We are too focused on joining a university. We have forgotten to live, to enquire the deeper 'the inner'. We are the outermost layer of the outer shell. No inner is known. Our vibration is defined by the brands we wear. Or the sports we follow. Our vibrations are not transcendental anymore. We are defined by the ideology we pursue. We are not even living. We are pretending that we are alive. It's harsh. But yes, we are all pretending. In our relationship, in our play, in making love, in eating, sleeping, being. We are pretenders.
Nepal'ness is to drop the pretending. And be aligned with nature and life.
The temples represent the Nepal'ness. The temples are so made that they can amplify the vibrations. The temple bells create a echo that is in-tuned with our physical body. The bells heals the person. The temple bells are made of specific metals (for example cadmium, lead, copper, zinc, nickel, chromium and. manganese) and each metal have their own properties for healing. The bell generally resonates for around 6 seconds and creates a tingling sensation. The sound works to tune our left and right brain. This is why we generally feel a sense of emptiness when the bells ring. They are made to make us feel so. Its a meditative tool. A reminder. It leads us to a trans state. And if in the morning we can achieve that state. The rest of the day we feel that trance and euphoria. Temple is not just a building. The next unusual thing that you might notice inside a temple is that no insects can be seen. The 'Garbha/Womb' of the temple is almost unbelievable clean physically and spiritually. Look at them like a psychic space ship which we can use to travel the inner world. The world within. Its a scientific phenomenon. We feel spontaneous unity with the world. But do we actually enter the temple, seeking of true wisdom with awareness and understanding. Same is the question with Nepal, do we live (visit) Nepal, with seeking of true wisdom with awareness and understanding.
It must be interesting for some to know that the main idol of the temple is placed before building the temple. Temples cannot just be built. Temples happen. They are like energy centers of the planet which evolves as a temple. That is why temples are 'Shakti Kunj', the place of energy. Nepal is a 'Shakti Kunja'. A temple happens around that energy junction. Nepal is the temple of the world. It has something which is not physical. That Nepal'ness is something profound and special. And such centres are in many places around the world. Some are activated, some dormant, some misused, some lost. But this energy'unity surrounds our planet. That which is etheric is Nepal'ness.
Next time you visit a temple, don't just roam around. Find a place, sit for a while. Feel. Experience. Just me. Let it be a meditative moment. Just be in full awareness. LIVE. MEDITATE.
Nepal'ness !
