The Death of Psychedelia ! (Part 1)
During the 1960's a small group of people started coming to Nepal as an experimentation on the insight of Psychedelic Hallucinogens and something beyond those induced moment. And till today Nepal for many visitors remain the ground of psychedelic experiences, regardless of the fact that the psychedelia of Nepal is nearly dead.
Nepal, is the land of nomadic beauty and Serendipity. And it has always been the land of fascination throughout the ages. The density of architectural brilliance in the ancient Nepal has always astound me with mystery and silence. The diversity and mystery, of this Himalayan nation is in-explainable. The shamanistic heritage of natural trance was once the heart of a beautiful momentum. But along the rivers of time, all vanished away. And today only pretentious shamanism exists within the cultural practices in different part of Nepal.
In this small country of existential innocence, a huge forces of exo-essential secrets were born, and in a long tradition of modernization, it's lost somewhere. Yet, in-between the huge fume's of illusive personification of Nepal, a small fire of secrets still remains.
Carl Jung, when travelling to India, intentionally avoided meeting Ramana Maharshi. Jung missed the first hand experience of the unknown. He knew that his whole study would fail under the influence of one man. So, he just avoided Ramana Maharshi. Similarly, I have seen a intentional boundaries created in the mind-frame of lot of so called spiritual people, religious people and the modern educated man in Nepal. The whole science of the wilderness is just left out of the understanding, even in the catalytic talk. On the other hand, majority of Nepalese are completely unaware about this vastness of mysteries and psychedelia. The only thing that they cling upon is the 'hash of Pashupatinath' and 'the birth of Buddha.'
I have rarely met 10 people who have understood the meaning and science of existential religion in Nepal. Be it 'Hinduism' or 'Buddhism.' On the one hand there are people who follow these pathways completely blind, and on the other hand, people just reject the whole science on the plain basis of superstition.
"The word psychedelic, comes from the Greek word 'psykhe' which means the mind and 'deloun' which means to make visible. Furthermore the word 'deloun' comes from the root 'dyeu' which means 'to shine'. In the correct esoteric sense of the word, Psychedelic means an awake mind."

"The world's greatest and one of the oldest book, Mahabharata, speaks that Himawat was the king of Himalaya and his daughter Parvati married Lord Shiva. Similarly, it was not a well formed nation, so the Book mentions the names such as Nepa Kingdom, Kinnara Kingdom, Kulinda Kingdom, Parvata Kingdom and so on. But consecutively during this period of Mahabharata, there were also the kingdom belonging to Kirata's in the northern hemisphere. And the first Kirat king, Yalambar, is supposedly 'Barbarik' described in Mahabharata. This stretch was also into the part of China, where today the Kailash Parvat is, which is also referred to as Sumeru Parvat or Kangrinboqê, in simplified Chinese. Vidhea is also another kingdom mentioned in Mahabharata and Ramayana, which today we know as Janakpur. The land of King Janak."
King Yalambar, or Barbarik was believed to be one of the strongest man in the world. It might be fare to say that he was the Hercules of Nepal. And during the battle of Mahabharata, any side he chooses to fight from would have won the battle. So in some irrational mode of events, Lord Krishna asks him to cut his head and not to join any of the sides. His head his allowed to witness the whole of Mahabharata. Which is transferred to Kathmandu, particularly in Indra Chok, with Tantric Science. The place of worship for Akash Bhairav. This might be true, or untrue. But its an interesting story.
Tibet, in the ancient period had trading relation with Nepal. The Singing Bowl, and almost all the artistic elements were made in Nepal. The oldest singing bowl is as old as 800-600 years, and was made in the Himalayan region of Nepal. Nepal had the most exceptional blend of artisans for over 2000 years. Which overtime transferred through out Asia. Thats why we see the trans-himalayn artistic culture in countries like China, Thailand, Japan and so on.
According to Swoyambhu Purana a Buddhist Scripture, Kathmandu was once a Lake and was formed as a Valley when Bodhisattva Manjushri cut the hills using his sword. The ancient geological finding proves that Kathmandu was once a Lake. And today if flows as the Bagmati River. But Geologist point out, that the water was not drained all at once but took a long period of time.

Arniko, during the reign of Jaya Bhim Dev Mall was sent to Tibet to build a Golden Stupa. From Tibet, he moved to China, and to the empire of Mongol Emperor Kublai Khan. Poorly Nepalese History does not quote about this architectural genius. And what is known, comes from the Chinese History. Arniko was possibly from the region of Patan. The Chinese History, regards Arniko as an Artistic Prodigy. I am sure this brilliance in art comes from the exposure of mystical and beautiful art & craft of Newa People.
