The Violence of Education System !
We can see that education system all over the world, at its best, as it assumes to be, is trying to teach something to the mind of an individual, the process which is thought to be something helpful to live the life. The main agenda being educating people and shaping minds. There is also one more specialized element of making a person creative, through the process of learning.
The process of education looks to be a mechanism of producing something called a educated human. I assume, we have no trouble in accepting the fact that education in school cannot educate a single mind. Off-course there is a procedures of sharing information that's it, I don't see anything more in this place called school.
One might disagree with me, but look closely schools use the students as a bucket to fill information, data, and facts and label them educated if they can recall all the things given to them. Which is said to be the societal standard of a educated human being.
A baby, born with curiosity, creativity, imagination, wonder and intrinsic motivation is reduced to a mechanical machine who talks, walks, works and follows a life, and dies. This baby had all the possibilities to be Einstein, Aristotle, Plato, Adam Smith, anyone, but he ends up with depression, anxiety, disease, disorder and emptiness in his hand, with all his money he had earned over time. So who is to be blamed for this creative genius to be turned into a mechanical bio-machine. Is it the parents, or the society, the school, the teachers, the friends, the work, who is the one to be blamed.
The school revolves around the sole dogma, of creating winners and producing looser. Its simple, if you label a few nut cracks who can write some more and read some more, winners then you are also classifying the remaining group into looser, even if this student is far more intuitive and creative then the "winner group", his creativity and awesomeness, is never welcomed in the family, society or in the world. No wonder majority of the population is facing the depression problem. Modern research suggest it to be 125 million as of 2011, but I presume from the current world scenario 90% of the world population is suffering from some sort of depression and anxiety.
The word, school comes from the Greek word "schole", which means leisure, I don't think there is any leisure involved in the schools today. Schools seem to be a work station for working hard, monotonously one class after another, and to mug up the codes of conduct one needs to follow, then battle for the positions to go to the next level, where everyone is thought the value of ugly competition, its all about work, work, work and work on the scheduled manner, and if you cant do it, then you are a looser, a student with bad morale. What a hypocrisy ! And what is taught, as i look into my school days i was only taught crap, things that are absolutely unimportant, nothing to do with happy and joyous survival. School taught me with some very academic nonsense the wonderful irrelevant aspect of this wonderful life. The aspect of playful living, which has utmost value was never taught. It was full of unnecessary information, and junks which has absolutely nothing to do with self actualization and understanding. In a way, school taught me, how to waste the life with some scholarly nonsense, without feeling guilty, even if I do feel guilty, to hide it under the standard of the academic morale.
There is a famous saying, that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, it is said in most of the schools, colleges and universities, but its meaning no-longer exists. The actual meaning thats meant is, go play so that you can get ready to work again. Now the very essence of playing has lost its meaning, lost its beauty. Now there is no playing. And this is done very cunningly, one doesn't even realize that he is being fooled. And if education is creating a mind with wisdom, then it wouldn't do so, it would let the mind enjoy the adventure and the freedom of playfulness, but no education deprives one from adventure and the freedom of playfulness, stating that its a waste of time. Now this human never completely grows, he is manufactured, he is created as the schools want him to be.
